Benchmark International Successfully Facilitated the Transaction Between Total Office Solutions, North east Ltd and National Business Machines Ltd

January 25, 2024

Benchmark International is pleased to announce the acquisition of Monaghan-based Total Office Solutions, North East (TOS NE) by Cork-based National Business Machines (NBM).

TOS NE is a managed services provider for printers and high-volume, full-colour multifunctional devices for a client base of SMEs, local authorities, and educational institutions. The company also supplies and installs office furniture and products such as desktop PCs, servers, and stationery, and provides full IT consultancy and security services.

Founded in 1985, NBM was one of the first Xerox concessionaires to set up in Europe and has grown to become the largest Irish concessionaire. The partnership between Xerox and NBM has grown and developed over the past 33 years and resulted in the delivery of a strong value proposition for NBM’s customers. Headquartered in South Link Business Park in Cork, the company also has sales offices with showrooms in Waterford and Limerick.

The acquisition is part of NBM’s customer-centric strategy to expand its portfolio of offerings to clients in Ireland and follows NBM’s £1.8m investment into its Northern Ireland subsidiary Innovative Workplace Solutions last year.

With growth plans firmly in NBM’s sights, it plans to double its workforce and invest over €10m into developing its workplace solutions and IT capabilities for customers over the next five years.

Niall Watters, managing director of TOS NE commented: “Becoming part of the NBM Group will see even greater expert support for new and existing customers and I am excited for the future.”

Managing director of NBM, Michael Galvin, said: “Growing and expanding our offering to help customers create smarter workplaces with the acquisition of TOS NE is a big moment for us. Since we started back in 1985 it has been our ambition to provide the best innovative IT and workplace technology solutions in Ireland. The addition of TOS NE, and our extended footprint, means that we can expand our customer offerings even further across Ireland.”
